Ok, so this is my first rodeo. At the request and badgering of friends, I have started this blog. I will be sharing my weight loss and quitting smoking journey. So, to bring this blog to date, I started my weight loss journey March 1, 2011. After being overweight all of my life, I decided that I owed it to myself to make some major changes. I went and signed up for Weight Watchers. This program is WONDERFUL!!! It is NOT a diet, it is a lifestyle change. You can diet until you are blue in the face but as soon as you go back to your old habits, the weight comes back too! Weight Watchers has been the best thing for me. I have lost 40 pounds so far. I still have about 50-60 pounds to go but I am in no rush to get there.
The other thing I am doing is quitting smoking. I smoked my last cigarette July 5. I bought an electronic cigarette and it has helped a lot. The e-cig is basically the same thing as the patch or gum but it looks like a cigarette and "smokes" like one. Instead of giving off the cigarettes taste and smell, it just gives off the nicotine taste and water vapor is inhaled. I have been cigarette free for over a week and I not really using the e-cig as much. The fist day was the worst! OMG!!! I understand why so many people can't quit smoking, I'm sure 60-70 percent of them couldn't get past the first day! Although the no smoking is going good, it did affect my weight loss the first week but I am really pushing hard this week. Hope to have a good number on the scale Tuesday!
